Back to blogging and travelling by boat this time
Hello all,
Welcome back to my blog. Normally I blog as I travel and hopefully bring some humour to you all.
This time I will kind of be traveling but it will be more about me being involved in a new venture
As I am sure everyone is aware I have decided to take the opportunity to be the Navigator on the Team SCA Volvo65. I found the decision soooooooo easy to make, oh no that is a complete lie.

It has been very hard to make the decision to leave the incredible British Sailing Team role that I have and it feels like I am turning my world upside down but for something equally incredible and special and weirdly something a little bit more for me.
I should thank my family and friends in their support they have given me in making this decision and hope that they will all follow me on my journey and maybe even join me.

I intended to do some updates as I went through the last 2-3 months training but time has escaped me and it is only as I sit here with my penultimate time off before the start of the UK that I realise as with everything there is never enough time and this will go by in a flash. If I thought the Games come round and go quickly this will be over in a flash!
So this bit of chat is going to be a bit more of a quick summary of the highlights of the last few months and then hopefully I will keep the ball vaguely rolling and you all slightly interested as I progress towards the start and then round the world
So top things so far,
1. Crossing the Atlantic (twice as we had to come back and they wanted me to! This was my trial. It is also still the longest I have been at sea, a whopping 14days!)
3. Racing Round the Canaries against the 2 of the other Volvo 65
4. Dune buggying with the ladies on Lanzarote
5. Awesome start at the Round Britain and Ireland
6. Becoming a World Record Holder- it may for the Ladies record monohull around Britain and Ireland but I will take that as a start
7. Photo and video shoot - always nice to be a bit spoilt for the day but supermodel life is definitely not for me and not because I am not tall enough or drop dead gorgeous there was just way too much hanging around
8. Sea survival course. Of the 30 groups that have been through the course we were the first to sing in the life raft worth a watch Team SCA Safety Course
7. Meeting the Crown Princess of Sweden- their Kate Middleton (bet she loves that comparison, or vice a versa!!!)
So need to pack my bags for the two containers that will be bunny hopping around the world to meet as at the stops. Packing for a year but splitting it between two bags. I definitely don't have enough clothes or fore thought for this, I love to pack the day before I leave just as I am going to bed before a 4am departure! May I will just buy stuff as I go round!
Next stop is Alicante in Spain and this is where the race begins.
