Libby lobster .....
Libby lobster in many ways.....it was inevitable that somehow I would lobster myself and I would eat some lobster.
Snorkelling number 1 fail......no rashvest.... number 2 forgot my suncream for reapplication.....number 3 fail obviously went in the middle of the dayπ€£π¦π¦π¦ burny burny buuurny burnt thing
In the shade with a gentle breeze and views like this, yes, maybe π this could be a little bit of paradise and people could fall in love with here and each other. If lying back and relaxing and letting go is your thing where the temperature stays above 26 C but feels like 40C some days with the humidity, then Unguja is it....note Zanzibar is a city/town but also the archipelago which causes much confusion in conversation sometime.
I continue to discover I would rather be putting clothes on to get myself to the right temperature versus being unable to take anymore off and still not be the right temperature .....maybe there is something in that whole dosha thing Sharon. You need to come here and eat spicy food. I need to go home and eat ice cream π€£.
A bit of rain overnight added to the moped fun and I have now firmly hung up my keys for the rest of the trip. The mild peril Lisa is over you might just be entirely booooored instead. My stress levels are greatly reduced after seeing a truck full of water bottles roll on my journey out and then cats, dogs, goats, monkeys and people all playing boo from the side of the road on the way home being chauffered will be rather pleasant
I pottered north of my hotel along the Pingwe peninsula in search of the Blue Lagoon and lots of starfish. I first popped in at a tiny town that is on W coat of the peninsula and you can see the mangroves. This part is even less spoilt and developed than where I am.
It is always difficult know what these tours will be like despite the wealth of info you can read online but apart for it just being me myself and I ......it did not disappoint.
Its a little off season so super quiet with a boat to myself and pretty much the reef and star fish this was definitely worth it.
Obligatory look I am snorkeling with a million fish photo where you can in fact see noneπ€£
There really were loads of fish and some rays and lotss of coral. For those interested in more extensive holiday snaps go hereAfter snorkeling and being fed enough fruit for if the boat was full. I tried to dry off and had a mango lassi ( another holiday fav) and then took myself out for dinner...... Oh wait that's every night
Lobster Libby had lobster on a rock and had a cocktail called the Rock, that was so green it can only be whatever that green drink was that took down Rachel on her 21st at Hyeres regatta, where she was convinced her wheels were going backwards on the cycle home to the tent.
The tide came in and we Venice punting styled back to shore. The punters were very funny ther were wearing legging under their shorts. Happy to get their leggings wet but woah they were not letting their shorts get wet as they hitched them as high as possible to step out and pull the boat the last bit ashore.
I wandered up to find the beep beep.....which the security dude was about to lock up for the night as they didn't think I was returning.
Strange.....
On a bit of a side note a few of the things I have noticed this solo travel here......
+ Solo travellers are few and far between
+ The surprise and questions at my lack of partner, marriage or friends to travel with /in my life. Nearly all, I find mildly upsetting though most are lost in translation but every single one just digs, chips or maybe shaves a little bit of me away no defence/self belief is that strong
+ The colour of my hair......they love it want to know what colour it is. I guess grey silver white is actually quite rare here
+ The people are super friendly and it feels very safe though they are trying to sell you stuff all the time. I suspect physical money would get stolen but phones fortunately not so much. I have accidently left my phone with my card hidden not hidden in the back of it, on my scooter twice now while I have wandered of for a few hours....I should probably look for passport
