Mizzle and heart break

Moooorning bleak Kielder Forest guess thats partly why it is here. Walnut loves the mizzle and out we went at 0700 on a wander from the site. A few max speed laps of a partially flood field and i can confirm that my shoes are no longer gore tex and the cotton based waterproof top is living more up to its cotton aspect than waterproof! Home for a fry up and suddenly dog food is less tasty than sausage and bacon cooked at nose level for some!

First little adventure today, to a place called Bellingham mainly because it has a shop some great walks and is on the way to kennels- yes walnut is going to hotel so I can do my triathlon......

Fab walk by the river and wamder arpund the village which reminded me of being in west wales......remote places operate differently. Though this one did have coop and an aptly name cafe called LUNCH, where customer isnt right no skinny lattes oatmilf coffees a big fat and simple whole milk only! Great pies and pain au chocolat

Next came the heart breaking moment of leaving walnut at the kennels...it a lovely farm with masses of space obience training....another cruft or sheepdog winner. But my jeart broke a little as her face as i walked away. Hoping shes not traumatised, remembers me and doesnt hate me forever!

I then went to rack my bike and prepare for my event in the delightful mizzle willing it to be better tomorrow and having a lttle toe dip to check

Apparently ypou cant normally swim in the kielder lake and this is one of the few times you can....note not fact checked.....just what someone said! A bit like stinging nettles only sting you from the stem....that is fact checked and is wrong!

Back to the campsite to set up for an early start as by my calculations an 0400 alarm is required.....for fun! On my return the population of the campsite had tripled and was growing fast.....the mizzle had broken and midges were coming in strong! Some classic French Cricket was being played by my neighbours and the rules of one hand one bounce and youre out being questioned. I backed the kids and informed the adult this is a long established rule.

After  feeding myself until i thought I might actually explode preparing all my kit.....there seems to lots of fiddly things. I went for that completely pointless sleep you have before any early alarm never mind one when there is an event to be done....aka no sleep or waking several tines and day oh good still 4hrs. Ooh 3hrs oooh 1.5 or my favourite having your eyes closed is just as restful!
