Aquaplaning to the coast and then it cracked

I often wonder why i write these blogs.....maybe in years to come I will try and read back through the mis-spelt poor grammatical blogs and hopefully be able to decipher them and think WOW what a life.
In the moment I think it helps keep me sane and connected as I am really fairly lonely even with the nut rumbling around.
In writing them i am reminded of the wonderous things of the world and not just the fact that I didnt think that more water could fall out of the sky!
So packing up in the rain and trying to organise my bags as the next place is a 15min walk from any car parking and on the coastal path so need to pack light.
A quick whiz around the campsite forest for walnut and whiz round and round in circles, a chat at checkout with the campsite bods and suggestion of some.outdoor hooks for the pods and midgy net for the window.....one got my lip last night....and then bust through the duck barracade and we are off.
Forest drive here we come.....not suitable for very low riding vehicles.....or as the sign says at the opposite end 4x4s needed.....sorry broom broom. Forest drive is a poorly maintained toll road...ha ha...not really it does cost do it with a tricky toll booth and then. The drive connects Kielder the remotest village to the A68 is one of the highest roads in Engalnd gping up to jist over 1500FT. The views even in miserable weather are amazing and the change in scenery incredible from the land of Christmas trees, to being up above the world my first spots of the scottish thistle
At the end we stopped and went on another waterfall hunt this one not sp successful and tiring rapidly of the rain which has ruined big hiking day for us!
Things were taking a turn downwards......so I looked at the things I had highlighted and saw Craigside House and Gardens, a national trust location and as a member I can get in for free and while we wont be allowed in the house we can go rpund the gardens and in the tea room which will be dry!
Wow did the heavens open, with fall waterproofs and an umbrella wow Craigside did not disappoint even if the hpuse looked a little creepy in this weather.
With over 40miles of walking paths in the gardens you could cpme time and time again, I covered a tiny area and it was just amazing I couldn't imagine having this place as my home
Its the first house in the world to be powered by hydroelectric power.
Armstrong who engineered the largest swing bridge in the world and it in Newcastle constantly developed the place putting in a dam and building two further lakes to make enough power. Dad would love this place for a wonder of engineering
I cant fully remember a little of what I learnt nevermind what I didnt get to see!
I often think I dont make the most of my National Trust membership but everytime I do I am.always in awe of some of the things that people did. After tea and a cookie , a postcard purchase and we were aquaplaning our way to Alnmouth wishing we didnt have to walk 15 mins at the end!
The rain had not finished but they very kindly offered to take not only mu stiff but also walnut and I to the accommodation. I politely declined the lift but they happily dropped my luggage as we would walk so I could go to the shop.....wine cheese and chorizo required!!! Really putting my protective cotton layer to the test i arrived at my hut wet and walnut.....well she was wet tooooo!
Wood burner on wind cheese and things are looking up at the cloud breaks and eventually the skies clear.....i dont think i need to say more!
