Chooo Choo and splish splash

Off on the End of World train despite every bit of advice saying didn't don't it! Sometimes I feel you have indulge these things.
In my own little carriage with breakfast as getting out of bed this morning was nearly a complete fail followed by now you are going to have to run to make the train well the bus to catch the train , and crap knows when I left if the bus was coming back to get me!
The train goes about as quick as I do running on a good day! 5KM in 30 mins probably deliberately for the view.

This End of the world train probably is the lowest latitude train in the world most likely......

Its history is associated with the formation of Ushuaia as a town 1884 and Argentina wanting to make it more Argentinean and help the town prosper by having a penal colony. Basically send convicts to build stuff mainly cutting down the forest in the process. Only they sent people tht really weren't very nice so then those that hadn't broken the law weren't that inspired to move there. At one point they had just over 600 prisoners living in a prison meant for about 300 and only about 600 other people living in the town. Eventually the prison was shut down in the 1947 due how bad the conditions were, the train they built was kept running until thhen an earthquake damaged the lines . it was resurrected in 1994.

Today I bought my postcards I have always liked writing postcards because it meant you paused from the rush of the world and thought about the the people a million or just a few miles away. I like taking the time to think of the person and an appropriate postcard so often my recipient's change.  But without fail my grandparents always got one. I like to think that as I didn't see them that often that they knew I thought about them a lot more, and still do. Sadly now all passed away this is my first real trip away that I won't have one of them to write to.
Now there is an app for it and even I have caved to technology on occasions.  But not here at the end of the World. I will no doubt beat my postcards home and some may never make it (ha ha or I didnt send you one!) but for the moments I take and get to give, enjoy!

Best go buy my 3rd hat of the day managed to forget one when i left the house, buy one in a shop take the label off and then just forget it or lose it not really sure which lets see if I can keep hold of this one for Beagle Channel cruise.

Can confirm its a winner!
After the biggest piece of cheesecake and a free hot chocolate I found some stamps.  Those postcards may as will have been made of gold I headed to the dock ready for the clouds to part on my cruise on the Beagle channel.

Yet again the weather seems to be making sure I have reasonably nice time here, and for my cuise throught the Beagle Channel. It may not Akiri (if that's how you spell your boat rob) or Sydney harbour. But every which way you look  there is something
Also never really realise sea lions had such marked finger bones (or leg or toe or....) in their flippers on their tails or bums!

Not sure I need explain much but the Beagle channel is about 280km long Ushuaia is roughly in the middle and the most southern city (in Argentina at least) because the channel marks the boundary as well between Chile and Argentina and there is a whole world of islands including Cape Horn that way , but not city or town! Puerta williams on Isla Navirno is a naval base not a city!
The Antartic dove was probably the other most interesting thing. All white and breeds down south making the 1000km flight in one hit. It can't float or swim!

Most worrying of all I think I have been wearing my new hat backwards all day.......
