Things could only get better....
Tap tap.....
Hmmmm......
Was that someone knocking on the van?
I was half alseep in some wildly crazy vivid dream as we all semi woke up hot as hell to a 'stern' Norwegian lady.
Why are you parked in two spaces?
Our jaunty angle not sounding so fun
I will have to fine you 600 kronas way too early to vaguely contemplate the maths or formulate a response but Lindsey diplomatically replied that it was slmeone elses fault and we will move cue some shuffling around in pyjamas and we were off to the capsite we had spied as we were also reaching a critical situation with toilet onboard.
Campsite flakstad was a great location at the other end of the beach and had the toilet emptying facilities but the grumpy man wouldnt let us even pay to do it....day not starti g well.
We paused made a cup of tea in bid to improve our day in search of a breakfast spot.
I closed the sliding door with the window still open on its hydraulic arms and they detach. So while i climb in the front Fi merrily pushes the wi dow open to reattach them only for the whole window to make a bid for freedom. So now before breakfast or a cuppa we have a rather large hole in the side of the van that resulted in some chuckling along with a time out for me!
Fortunatley the power of 3 came good the window went back in with some significant brain power a small step and many hands and will now forever be kept firmly shut and after firmly blowing out brains trying to pay for our next parking we finally ate a breakfast of british champions scrambled eggs and bacon, cup of tea outside in yet another beautiful location and all was right in the world.
Someone even asked us how to pay as if we looked clued up!
Wheels up windows closed we set off to see a giant floating head sculpture and lighthouse in Eggum unstud walk.
Another top spot to camp which made us reconsider our camping locations....we had been using the Arctic campers website but thay is firmly out the window and satellite imagery is back in the game.
The excitement of the head sculpture we set off with our thermos full and a piece of almond cake to share.
Boom can you tell how big it is?
Yes it was marginally disappointing the scale of it but really rather clever as you walked around it it changed features and tirned turned upside down.
On we went to find the lighthouse........after a little while i had to sow the seed of disappointment that we wouldnt see one to Fi......but she kept believing and declared some vaguely organised pebbles the ruins of a lighthouse.
The almond cake was a success and we returned to fortress at the start of the walk. It use to be used as a radar site in the war by the Germans......it continues to amaze me how far the war extended.
We pottered on and this time a little ferry and headed to Love camping for showers washing and a bit of stationary-ness, even though we now know how to create hot water.
