Yay for a holiday buddy
Two days ago I left Chiang Mai and landed finally at just after midnight in Phuket and met up with Lindsey (who was sadly feeling a little under the weather). We has a lazy rise and booked our ferry to Ko-Phi-Phi and a day trip to the Ao Phag-Nga Nationl Park- which I am sure in a couple of days from the photos you will see the reason it is famous but also the many reasons to visit
However, yesterday I am calling a blogging blot, because I was shown all the things I actually imagined this country to be like in one day, but the location is too stunning to be too pissed off for long. The ferry to the island – we got to the port at 1300 for the 1330 ferry and stood in the queue only to be told no next ferry – 1430. Ok fine. Then we at least managed to acquire a proper ticket and finally at 1530 and a crush to get on we boarded the red Jet equivalent- which is very much not the red jet!

When you disembark at Ko Phi-Phi you are greeted by a positive swell of tours and hotel stands – the guide books are right – the shop fronts are either selling you a tour or giving something to eat and drink!
However, in our one evening here we have eaten at an amazing Thai restaurant and met a c lovely couple Paula (from just outside Glasgow) and Mark( from New Zealand) ho have been travelling for 18 months now on £6000! They also show as the delights of the beach- the reason why this place has a party name!
On the opposite side to where we are staying is a beach full of neon lights- fluorescent skipping ropes and limbo poles and whole world of drinking, dancing, pumping music and fire shows to be seen and had!
Today we hired a long boat for a large part of the day and off we went snorkelling, sun bathing and swimming in water as warm as anything I have ever been in.
The first stop was a small beach on the advice of our driver and the words 'monkey'. We were greeted by some very friendly monkeys that perhaps got a little excited at times - which was demonstrated by the squealling women running back into the water at high speed!
The islands are stunning- massive lumps of limestone that have shot out of the water the beaches are beautiful and relatively unspoilt- including the one from ‘The Beach’
Wow looks wonderful. Mum x
