I may never eat again....well, at least not that well

I probably should have not eaten for about 3 days before I did my Thai cooking course as I am now the size of a bungalow (can't be a house as I am so short!)  and waddling too!

I got collected along with about 10 others at 0830 this morning and we all popped on a train then on some funky new bikes designed for passengers and before we knew it we were in the countryside cycling around farms with Hoi are cooking lady pointing out all the different things.

Eventually we end up at our cooking destination and having selected off a list of things we cruised round the farm being shown a variety of spices and herbs and how to pick them for our selected meals. This has given me several new ideas on what to grow next year in my garden!!
my ingredients at the ready

I cooked the following things, and ate them
chicken with cashew
Hot and sour prawn soup
spring rolls
Deep fried banana
Massiam curry (pretty sure that isn't spelt right)

The food was amazing even if I do say so myself and once I can find all the ingredients back home I will mainly be cooking thai.

I know many people have already had this experience and I understand why it is quite rewarding to cook amazing food if there is still a significant amount of assistance. It also quite amusing that 2 people can cook the same curry and it look completely different- I like to think mine was right but I am pretty sure the french girl likes to think hers was!!!
the happy chef!

After we had all cooked and eaten and as we slowly fell into our food comas we began our journey home. Back on our mighty steads we went via a local market to see what can be bought . The cost of things out here is very hard to fathom- with such amazing herbs and spices costing a little 5-10p at the market. It is no wonder they cook so well and such flagrant and flavoursome food.

WOK back home beware and be ready to be abused!
