Time travel is tiring
Marty McFly never eluded how tiring time travel is- but I guess watching him sleep would make for a fairly rubbish film! For only the second time on my life I did the closest thing you can do to time travel and crossed the date line from Auckland to Santiago. The 28th January is officially the longest day of the year sorry 21st of June you have nothing!
Having returned from Queenstown to Auckland I have been staying with Chris, H, Harry and their newest addition Lily Belle - who I think is the spitting image of Chris and is super tall already! If you wonder what I have been up to - probably what I enjoy spending time with a very very good friend.
My first day back was a trip to the hospital and my first view of exactly how big a break I had in my collar bone- its big! So nowt to be done there but wait and see.
Anyway we have been busy getting up early (in my mind) to go down and see the Prada 72 cat launched that is no mean feat seeing that swing around on a crane and then manoeuvred out of the harbour. We then went to the fish market and I got my face painted and a free helium balloon- I think they were for kids but hey ho!!!
We have been to a couple of beaches (Muriwai and the other name I forget!) while I was here and with my broken wing I made the mad dash over the exceptionally hot black sand to the sea to realise that when there are waves (no matter how tiny) it is definitely beneficial to be able t move both arms and have two fully functioning knees in order to stay upright!!!!
Anyway it was with a heavy heart that I have left New Zealand but my highlights have been
1. Seeing H (I miss you already) and family
2. Meeting Lily Belle
3. Flying in a helicopter around Mount Cook
4. Milford Sound
5. La Premier cinema experience!!!
Well I am only 1.5 hours off the end of a very long day which started with a lovely breakfast in Kohimarama and two trips to the airport as my flight time changed and a long and painful flight to Santiago, to arrive in the middle of a city that I have yet to make the best of due to falling asleep!
Enjoy and stay safe everyone I am off to Easter Island tomorrow.
